Master Service Agreement & Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

By provisioning a Fibre, Fixed LTE, Wireless, or Cloud VoIP service through SolidHope Tech (Pty) Ltd, you are entering into a binding telecommunications contract.

1. RICA Act Compliance

In terms of the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (RICA) 70 of 2002, SolidHope is legally mandated to verify the identity of all active subscribers.

  • No Fixed LTE SIM card or VoIP SIP trunk will be activated without successful RICA validation.
  • You must provide a clear, color copy of your South African ID (or valid Passport) and a Proof of Residence no older than 3 months.
  • SolidHope reserves the right to immediately suspend any service if fraudulent RICA documents are detected.

2. Fibre Networks (FNOs) & SLAs

SolidHope provides bandwidth routing and ISP services over physical infrastructure owned by third-party Fibre Network Operators (FNOs) including Vumatel, Openserve, Frogfoot, MetroFibre, and Octotel.

  • Installation Delays: SolidHope cannot be held liable for delays in physical trenching, civil works, or FNO technician availability.
  • Line Speeds: All residential Uncapped Fibre packages are provided on a "Best Effort" broadband basis. Speeds are "up to" the advertised rate and are subject to overhead degradation.
  • Symmetrical vs Asymmetrical: Upload speeds will match the specific FNO package you selected during signup.

3. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) & FUP

To ensure network stability for all 10,000+ SolidHope subscribers, we enforce a strict Acceptable Use Policy.

  • Uncapped Protocols: While data is unmetered, extreme, continuous, and disproportionate abuse of the network (e.g., 24/7 automated server torrenting on a home line) will result in traffic shaping.
  • Wireless Interference: Microwave and 5G/LTE links are subject to environmental interference. SolidHope cannot guarantee latency during severe weather events or load-shedding tower outages.

4. VoIP, Cloud PBX & SIP Trunks

Our Voice solutions rely entirely on the stability of your underlying internet connection.

  • Emergency Calls: VoIP services are geographically independent. Calls to emergency services (10111) cannot guarantee precise location tracking.
  • Call Fraud: Clients are responsible for securing their PBX hardware. SolidHope is not liable for toll fraud or unauthorized international calls made from compromised client networks.

5. Equipment & Free Routers

SolidHope frequently offers "Free-to-Use" dual-band Wi-Fi routers as a sign-up promotion.

  • The router remains the explicit property of SolidHope Tech.
  • If you cancel your service within the first 12 months, the router must be returned at your own cost, in original packaging.
  • Failure to return the router will result in an automatic hardware claw-back fee of R1,499.00 billed to your account.
  • ONTs (Optical Network Terminals) belong to the FNO and must NEVER be removed from the wall.

6. Billing, Payments & Cancellations

We operate on a strictly prepaid, automated billing cycle.

  • Invoicing: Invoices are generated on the 25th of the month, payable by the 1st of the new month.
  • Suspension: Failure to settle accounts via PayFast or Debit Order by the 3rd will result in automated system suspension via our Radius/API integration.
  • Cancellations: A full calendar month's written notice is required for all cancellations via the ClientZone portal. (e.g., Notice given on 15 June means the service terminates on 31 July).
